Got A Minute? Dr. Tom Here – Watch Question the Answer

Dr. Tom Here, Got A Minute?

I was talking to one of my patients the other day, and he said, “You know, I’ve finally figured it out. I finally figured it out.” And I said, “Okay, give me what you’ve got.”

And he couldn’t.
And I said, “Well, you know what you’ve done? You’ve made a fatal mistake. You’ve been so driven to try and answer your question that you’ve neglected everything else.
You haven’t paid attention. You haven’t looked at the process that you’ve gone through, and as a consequence, you came up with an answer that ain’t exactly right.
So rather than what we’re conditioned to do, we are always told to answer the question. However, what I usually suggest to my patients is: Question the answer.
Just when you think you’ve got things nailed, things change.
You don’t think the same way when you were thirteen; why should anything be different now?”
So, don’t necessarily answer the question. Spend a little time, and question the answer. It might not be the answer you want.
